This time at Guitarpoint we'll be comparing two original vintage Gibson Les Pauls, a 1954 and a 1956. They differ in their bridge system. And this has a certain effect on the sound and resonance of the structure. I'm playing a vintage Marshall amp and in the second part of the video I'll be playing a Pipper Raptor amp that is simply speechless. And of course, I will compare the sound of these v...

Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day also happy first week of summer ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
great sound an playing! what power tubes in this version? I could only find Raptor 16w and 22w on the Pipper website?
The only way that you can be sure that an ABR-1 bridge is sonically similar to another ABR-1, such as a real 59, is to measure its resonant frequencies - the frequencies at which it subtracts vibrations from the strings (so not seen by the pickups). Just having a bridge of similar dimensions that looks aged and may have been made with similar metals doesn't guarantee matching sonic characteristics. You can listen to them in an actual guitar, but that will never be as precise. Because your ears can't pinpoint those particular bridge frequencies.
What about the studs and bushings for the tailpiece?
This amplifier sounds awesome!
Pipper work is emasculate also wonderful player and humble, check Fargen amps for amazing plexi tones and the brilliant Germino
👍 Thank you
What paint do you use to relic?
You will find about all the materials that I use and about all the nuances of working with them on my Patreon in the Maker level www.patreon.com/8bombcustom
@@8BombCustom thanks :)
I am lucky enough to have the four uncles bridge on a very expensive 59 replica that I am also very lucky to have. It’s fantastic in every way but still does not outweigh the natural characteristics of a guitar. For example, I own a low end Greco model that is not chambered and has a Faber abr-1 that is the loudest, most vibrating guitar I own, acoustically and electrically. The four uncles did not bring my 59 replica up to par with my Greco. Better said, a bridge alone just can’t keep up with the natural characteristics and EQ that an entire guitar possesses.
Nice amp... i know Udos Products... fine stuff... but hell what a great paula! What Kapacitors and potis are u use together with your PAFs and how much is a combined Set of them with Matched Potis, Wire, Cable and Capacitors ? Got a 54 to 57 Conversion but they are come with modern wiring caps and SD Pickups... so maybe with your stuff they can raise from the death!? Greetings from Nürnberg
Thank you. There will be a separate video about this guitar. This is a special project. I use VIPots 520-540k and this guitar has Bumblebee capacitors 0.022 in the bridge and 0.033 in the neck. Does your guitar have Stephens Design PAF?
Awesome work, I dig it. 👍
What does a guitar like this cost?.
Классная у вас гитара 😅
Спасибо
Sounds killer. Has Marshall vibes in my opinion. That guitar looks and sounds amazing. Another winner. Love your content. Thanks!
Thank you
So it's a 5e3 based amp? Maybe with some.Dumble mods? Sounds really good
The LP looks amazing. Assuming thats one of your builds?
Thank you

Nice video, awesome tone, but these new for for almost 3500 $. "Can people make a video with an amp that's at a reasonable price"?
Unfortunately, good sound is expensive. And there are reasons for this. Components, approach and many years of experience of the master. And to be honest, this is an adequate price. Dumble asked for his amplifiers about 5k. Perhaps you can find a genius enthusiast who does not value his work and time very much but works like Perelman... I know one such in my city. But I waited 2 years for an amplifier from him... Now I regret that I sold it. I will probably not wait for the next one.
Marshall sv 20c i just bought one used, sounds great $900. Your amp sounds like a Marshall but a Marshall is really a Fender lol.
Sweeeeeeeet tone buddy!
Thank you brother
👏
Crazy good tone and that guitar is amazing. Your playing skills compliment both guitar and amplifier.
Thank you 😊
Lovely tone my friend🤤
Thank you my friend ☺️
Why go to all that trouble just to put the pickguard back on it? Fill those holes man
You can use Gotoh 510 tremolo. That is the true best.
510 tremolo? Fot 59 Les Paul? Blasphemy. 🫣
Hello @8BombCustom ! I have noticed that you installed the Four Uncles bridge with no notches on the saddles, right? With the strings directly leaning on the saddles. Is this a common practice? Thank you!
I always make notches under the strings, otherwise the strings roll off the saddle when playing.
Is that pickguard and pickup rings area59 also? Which color for the rings?
No, it is not area 59. Pickguards i made myself. Cream m69 butyrate rings you can find in Philadelphialuthiers.com
I have a Greeny Moore Reissue . Was a sun burst faded with a narrow head stock .
When your friend says better than original, what exactly does he mean?
What about German Faber ABR-1?
Faber is good one. But not so historical correct.
what is the name of the tuner app that u used? thanx
Tuneo
what do you spray over the pore filler ?? for the first coat
Notro laquer with red aniline dye
How do I hire you to make my old les paul into a gold top? do you do commissions? I have photos of a 5os gold top Id like to try to copy, the gold has turned almost brown. the back is very dark. I will look for your contact information.
It's a shame that Four Uncles doesn't have a website. I found one that sold on Reverb for almost $450.
It is a real price
I admit that's the best looking replica ABR1 I've seen. Tone is too subjective so I'm not going to say. I am pretty happy with the faber for now.
Was it a long or short neck tenon?
Short
How much does it cost?
About 420 euro
Норм.
Have you tried the 'Kiss My Strings' (KMS) bridge? Made in Germany. Very recommended. I'm interested to hear what you think.
KMS made awesome parts but not historical correct.
Is any1 using hardware from Mojoaxe? What are his vintage parts like? Many thanks
I saw this project guitar with my own eyes. It's gorgeous!!! With 8bomb Custom pickups I do believe it will sound killer in any way!
🙏😁
A comparison between this, the Faber and the ABM (all brass and alu?) would be cool! Great video as always.
Thank you. I was contacted by the 3 guys in Belgium, who asked me if I would like to be a part of making a true ABR1 replica. I have been complaining for YEARS that nobody ever actually tried to do this. They knew about me and my reverse-engineering work for 22 years to reproduce the vintage PAF humbuckers. That project was based in real SCIENCE, metallurgy, vintage magnet wire manufacturing and so much more than that. I told them HELL YEAH! I didn't ask to be paid, either. I destroyed one of my vintage ABR1's to get the true metallurgical knowledge that nobody bothered looking at. So many companies claim they make "vintage tone" parts, when none of them actually do. It took us two years, many prototypes and contacting a man over 80 years old who spent his life mixing zinc alloys for manufacturing. The project was not easy and after two years of pure hell, finding out they are not simple as they seem and are actually pretty complex. We all got pretty burned out, but we never stopped making sure we were going to make the first TRUE vintage replica bridge ever. We SUCCEEDED!. They sound like my vintage originals and do amazing things in any guitar that has a real ABR1 sitting on correct BRASS thumbwheels and BRASS posts direct into WOOD. The guys kept calling me "Uncle" because of my age, and we all called ourselves the Four Uncles. They sent one to the most famous Les Paul guy out there and he said we DID IT. The bridge is becoming more and more popular as players find out about them, and several 'Bursts' with bridges in bad shape now have our 4U bridge on them, because they do what the vintage ones do. These are NOT mass produced. They are hand cast, hand plated and aged if you want them aged, and they take over 6 hours or more to make just ONE. So, availability is low and not available all the times. You can buy one or more for yourself and guitar here on Facebook. Just click on the "Message" link. Thanks for doing the video. I did a video for the release at this link, and there are earlier videos while we were working on them and comparing prototypes with vintage originals, if you dig around my site: ua-cam.com/video/TwEgudEEs_8/v-deo.htmlsi=53dDqmqSRB3FT-eI
Thank you Dave

Faber is 10x better!!!!
Only in price 😁
@@8BombCustom it is not expensive, 40€ is not much in Germany
I'm saying that Faber is 10 times better in its price 😅
@@8BombCustom you know more than Derek Trucks I can see.
@@Redrum046And you just can’t seem to accept a difference in opinion.
First I think, as always amazing informative video on replacement vintage parts for the perfect replicas as you always make of the burst Les Paul. Definitely your product looks superior to the Gibson custom shop always in my opinion.
Thank you
Привет, а сколько по времени в холодильнике была гитара?
Каждый раз по разному
So going by the video description, I've gathered that the guitar here is a Les Paul Classic? I'm curious because that really huge control cavity route was unfamiliar to me. I'm used to the routing for an R9, or original 50's models. Is that how they route the cavity on all of the Gibson USA production models? Is the bottom of the cavity angled to match the top? Sorry, the geeky builder in me finds this stuff super interesting, haha.
its a talk ?
Love your video’s. Any chance of doing a Rory Gallagher strat relic? 😁
Thank you. soon according to the plan John Frusciante strat
Ok so you can’t heat the lacquer up to the point that it peels off and then say how flexible it is. Ofcourse it’s flexible. Let it cool and get hard again after a couple weeks and it won’t be as flexible.
Of course, when heated, any varnish becomes elastic. But that's not the problem here. This varnish is soft even when not heated. Its thick layer bends perfectly. It is the thick layer and the excessive amount of plasticizer that makes it a sound killer. But the factory does this for the sake of uncomprehending customers who want a perfectly shiny guitar that won't crack. Nitro doesn't work like that. And to make nitro stable, you need to make plasticine out of it. And to make the surface glossy and smooth, you need to pour one and a half liters of this varnish on the guitar. The customer is happy but doesn't understand anything. Sales, sales, sales... that's what worries the corporation. And for the most thoughtful, of course, they make the right varnish... but you'll pay a couple thousand extra for it. Everyone is happy 😁
